At a court held for the county of Lancaster the 19th day of March 1821 this last will and testament and codicil of ROBERT CHINN dec'd was proved in open court by the oaths of Augustine Neale and Thomas Sydnor Jr. two of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
Teste: Benjamin M. Walker C of C
March 16, 1783, Lancaster Co., 15, p. 142, Robert Chinn apprenticed himself to David Gallaway and George Key of Northumberland Co. until of age to learn mercantile pursuits.
This John Chinn must have had some type of disability, based upon reference to him in his father's will which states: "...my aforesaid niece Matilda A. E. Jeffries is to take care of my unfortunate son John during his life, furnished with good strong clothes, suited for the seasons, supported with good wholesome diet, furnished with decent lodging and take care of."
Other sources refer to her as Elizabeth Ann Chinn.
