Honorable Archibald Cary, of "Ampthill", Chesterfield County, Virginia; educated William and Mary College; magistrate, member House of Burgesses from Goochland 1748-1749; removed to Chesterfield 1750; magistrate (presiding), county lieutenant, member House of Burgesses 1756-1775; member Committee of Correspondence 1773; member Virginia Conventions 1775 and 1776; chairman Chesterfield Committee of Safety; member and Speaker Virginia Senate.
George Braxton, II, of "Newington". His gravestone at Mattaponi Baptist Church (formerly Episcopal) in King and Queen Co., VA, reads: "Here lies the body of George Braxton, Esq'r., who Departed this Life the first Day of July 1748 in the 71st Year of his Age leaving issue a Son and two Daughters. He died much lamented being a good Christian, a tender Parent, a kind Master, and friendly charitable Neighbor."
Mary Walker Carter, of "Shirley", Charles City Co., VA. Her gravestone at Mattaponi Baptist Church, (formerly Episcopal), King and Queen Co., VA reads: "Here lies the Body of Mrs. Mary Braxton who Departed this Life the 17th day of September Anno Domini 1736 Aetatis 34. She was the Daughter of the Hon. Robert Carter Esq'r President and Treasurer of His Majestys Council of this Colony. Her Death is much lamented by All Who knew her Being a good Christian, a kind wife, a tender mother and a charitable Neighbor. She left issue two sons George born Jan 13, 1734 Carter born September 16, 1736."
