Francis Fitzhugh Conway Dr.

Francis Fitzhugh Conway, and his wife Emma C. Hampton, had nine children.


Matthew Whiting Brooke

Dr. Matthew Whiting Brooke, and his wife Elizabeth Lewis, lived at "Gibralter", Fauquier Co. He was educated at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.


Edwin Francis Horatio Dade Conway Dr.

Dr. Edwin Francis Horation Dade Conway, M.D., United States Navy. He was lost at sea on the US ship "Grampus", in March 1843. He was appointed Assistant Surgeon, United States Navy, March 7, 1838.


George R. Atkinson Hon.

Honorable George R. Atkinson, educated Univ. of VA 1839-44; Graduated B.L.; Member of the Virginia Legislature; Judge, Circuit Court for Isle of Wight County, VA.


George William Conway Dr.

George William Conway, M.D., CSA. He was in the Lost Island disaster; escaped by wading through the swamp. His faithful body servant, Jim, had his old master's portrait with him and saved it. Dr. Conway passed through the Vicksburg siege; he became Assistant Surgeon and Surgeon, CSA.


Thomas Hay Conway

Thomas Hay Conway, CSA; was Clerk of the Circuit Court, Henry Co. prior to 1861; entered CSA as a Captain Co. C, 5th Regiment, TN Volunteers, May 20, 1861; was wounded at Shiloh, April 7, 1862, in right hand, lock jaw ensued and he died in 14 days.
