2nd Lt. Winston L. Carter, CSA. He was killed at battle of Williamsburg, May 5, 1862. He was 2nd Lt., Co. F, Prince William Rifles, 17th Va. Inf. "He was killed early in the day, cheering his men on. He was a steady, determined soldier and one of the most beloved officers in the Regt.". (Wise's His. 17th Regt.)
