Robert Hall Chilton Brig. Gen.
Brig. Gen. Robert H. Chilton, CSA. Adjutant to Gen. Robert E. Lee., CSA. Dragoons-Q.M.-Paymaster. He served on the frontier in the Mexican War and in Indian fighting before resigning as a Major, April 29, 1861 to become a Lt. Col. in the Adj. Gen's. office in Richmond the same month.
