Luke & Sarah Ball were cousins prior to their marriage.
James Ball was killed at the Battle of 2nd Manassas, Civil War.
Maria Louisa F. Ball never married. She owned "Bayview".
Thomas Ball, III served as a Lt., CSA during the Civil War, 1861-1865 & was a prisoner of war. After the war he moved to Texas in 1869.
Edward and Ruth had no children. They divorced.
Warner Thomas Ball served in the Home Guard, CSA, Civil War, 1861-1865. Owned "Midway".
Addison Carter Ball inherited "Bay View", and owned "Midway".
Warner Thomas Ball, lived in Denver, CO.
Mary Duval Dall inherited "Midway" with Eoline Ball Jesse.
Eoline Carter Ball owned "Epping Forest", and inherited "Midway" with Mary Ball Snead.
In addition to the dates on the gravestone of Adelina Somerville Carter Mitchell, the following is inscribed: "Faithful unto death, A crown of life."
