William Fitzhugh Carter was an M.D. in the United States Army.
Alfred Ball Carter, of "Sabine Hall", was a 1st Lieut., Co. F, 6th Va. Cav., C.S.A. He was wounded at Spottslyvania Court House in 1864, and Winchester, VA in 1864. He was appointed Captain in 1863.
